Small businesses will be showcased at the second-annual State Street Market on Saturday, Oct. 7, in downtown Geneseo.

The event, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., is planned by the Geneseo Chamber of Commerce.

Elizabeth Round, representing the State Street Market Committee, said 30 vendors from the Midwest were represented at the first State Street Market held last year and about 40 are expected this year.

“Many items offered by the vendors are one-of-a kind and are trend focused, curated products,” she said.

“State Street was bustling with activity at last year’s market,” she said, “Vendors, Geneseo business owners and shoppers were all having a great time. We are thrilled that State Street Market is now one of the signature events for Geneseo.”

In addition to vendors, this year’s Market will include food trucks and a live music stage. A free yoga session will be offered at 9 a.m. at the fountain on East First Street, before the Market opens at 10 a.m.
