Lura L. Bartley, 76, of Cambridge, died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2017, at Marigold Rehab and Health Care Center, in Galesburg. Per her request, cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Vandemore Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.

Lura was born Dec. 22, 1940, in Peoria, the daughter of Shelby and Ruby (Clark) Williams. She graduated from high school and married Howard W. Bartley on Aug. 22, 1958, in Kingston Mines. He preceded her in death on June 10, 2017. Lura was employed by the Pekin Insurance Company in the claims department. She retired after 25 years. Lura enjoyed quilting, painting and working in her flower garden. She and Howard spent much time together in Florida. She was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles.

Those left to cherish Lura’s memory include her daughters, Lynn (Dan) Cole, of Geneseo; Annette Bartley, of Pekin; and Janice (Scott) Muzzarelli, of Normal. Her grandchildren are Ryan Cole and Valerie DeReu. She has five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard; and her parents, Shelby and Ruby.
