The Geneseo High School Marching Band won the Class 3A title at the Western Illinois University marching contest on Saturday, Oct. 21. The band also captured first place in the winds, drum major and percussion categories. The band’s 2017 show ‘Moods of Puccini’ uses music from Italian composer Giacomo Puccini’s ‘Madame Butterfly’ and ‘Turandot’ operas. The band is led by senior drum major Jordan Flies and junior drum major Lauren Plumley.
