Lloyd D. Agee, 85, of Geneseo, formerly of Geneva, died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017, at his home. A funeral service celebrating his life was at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11 at Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory, in Geneseo. The Rev. Ryan Landino officiated. Burial was Monday, Nov. 13 at the Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation was from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10 at the funeral home. Memorials may be left to the Geneseo Art League, First Presbyterian Church, Geneseo Kiwanis or the Salvation Army.

Lloyd was born Oct. 31, 1932, in Sikeston, Mo.; the son of Lawrence and Gertrude (King) Agee. He graduated from Peoria Woodruff High School with the Class of 1951, and furthered his education at Bradley University where he earned his bachelor’s degree in 1956. Lloyd was married to Loretta Messmore from 1953 to 1973. He married Coralie Kane in 1973. She preceded him in death in 2010. Lloyd started at Alexander Lumber Company after graduation as a draftsman and advanced in the company to vice president/general manager, retiring in 1998. He carried his talents from his career into his hobby and enjoyed woodworking in his spare time. Lloyd also enjoyed collecting antique lanterns. He was a member of the Geneseo Kiwanis Club, Geneseo Art League, and attended First Presbyterian Church.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Sue Snell, of Geneseo; Lee Ann (Randy) Hoovey, of Geneseo; Terry (Stephen) Wargo, of Rochelle; David (Christine) Agee, of Naperville; Julie (Matthew) Pausch, of Bloomfield Hills, Mich.; Daniel (Nancy) Agee, of Venice, Fla.; and Douglas Agee, of Geneva. His grandchildren are: Andrew, Austin, Ryan, Rachel, Sarah, Dana, Laura, Dennis, Kristin and Melissa. Lloyd also is survived by his four great-grandchildren, Abigail, Elizabeth, Miriam and Jack. His brother, Lyndel (Delores) Agee, of Peoria; and his sister, Wanda Barrett, of Peoria, also survive him.
