It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Andover.

The 28th annual Christmas Walk will begin at 4:45 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2, with a tree lighting ceremony and sing-along at the Andover Lake Park Gazebo.

The evening includes a homemade soup supper served from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the American Legion Building where there also will be time for visits with Santa, craft making, making Christmas cards for shut-ins, refreshments and treats in addition to a silent auction of decorated miniature trees and other Christmas items, while visitors enjoy listening to Christmas carols and viewing an angel display.

A cookie walk also will be featured in the Legion Building.

The visits with Santa will include time to take photos of children.

There will be free tractor-pulled wagon rides around the park from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. (weather permitting) where guests will see lighted displays and luminaries along the walkway.

The candle-lit Jenny Lind Chapel will be filled with Christmas music to be presented from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. by “The Tewanta & Company Trio” from the Quad Cities and the Chamber Choir from Orion High School.

All events are free with the exception of the soup supper which is provided on a donation basis.

The event is sponsored by the Andover Tourism Council and the Andover Village Board.
