Lois L. Ashley, 84, of Geneseo, died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2017, at her home. Private funeral services were Wednesday, Nov. 29 at the Cambridge Chapel of Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services. A public visitation was from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Henry County Humane Society - Geneseo.

Lois Lee Robinson was born June 26, 1933, in Andover, the daughter of Freeman and Helen (Johnson) Robinson. She was educated in Orion schools and graduated from Orion High School in 1951. Her marriage to Charles E. Ashley took place on Sept. 27, 1952, in Andover. He died Sept. 25, 1988. Lois was a receptionist at Hammond-Henry Hospital, in Geneseo, for 15 year and then worked in the craft department at the Geneseo Walmart for 10 years. She was a member of the Geneseo Church of Christ and various quilt clubs. Lois was an avid quilter and enjoyed various crafts.

Survivors include two daughters, Brenda (Bryce) DeCook, of Byron, Minn.; and Stacy Ashley, of Geneseo; five sons, Mark (Emiko) Ashley, of Gretna, La.; Robert (Gina) Ashley, of Geneseo; Stephen Ashley, of Geneseo; Thomas (Gretchen) Ashley, of Bettendorf, Iowa; and Joseph (Kelly) Ashley, of Annawan. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Diane Clary and Ione Bestor; two brothers, Gayne and Howard Robinson; and an infant brother, Jerry.
