A Henry County farmer has been appointed to the Farm Service Agency state committee.

A Henry County farmer has been appointed to the Farm Service Agency state committee.

Melanie DeSutter, of Woodhull, was one of five Illinois residents appointed by U.S. Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue.

The five-member panel is responsible for carrying out FSA’s farm programs and serving as liaisons between the United States Department of Agriculture and farm producers in Illinois.

In addition to DeSutter, those named to the state committee included: Jim Reed, of DeLand; Martin Barbre, of Carmi; Ron Moore, of Roseville; and Troy Uphoff, of Findlay.
