Mary Jane Miller, 93, of O’Fallen, formerly of Geneseo, died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018, at Cedar Ridge Health & Rehab Center, in Lebanon, Ill. A funeral mass was at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 20 at St. Malachy Catholic Church, in Geneseo. The Rev. Michael Pakula officiated. Burial followed at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, in East Moline. A visitation was one hour (9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.) prior to the funeral mass on Saturday. Memorials may be left to the Mary Jane Miller Memorial fund. Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory, of Geneseo, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mary Jane was born June 20, 1924, in Chicago, the daughter of Margaret Collins. She graduated from St. Clare Academy High School. She later received her associate’s degree in nursing from St. Joseph School of Nursing, in Chicago. Mary Jane was united in marriage to Howard Miller on Jan. 10, 1948. He preceded her in death in March 1972. She was a nurse at the former Moline Public and Illini Hospitals for 30 years before her retirement. Mary Jane was a current member of St. Claire Catholic Church, of O’Fallon, and a former member of St. Malachy Catholic Church.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Kurt Miller, of O’Fallon; daughter-in-law Susan (Kurt) Miller, neé Moon; grandson, Kye Miller; of Santa Fe, N.M.; and Sean Miller, of O’Fallon; granddaughters, Kristin (Sean) O’Reilly, of Shelby Township, Mich.; Kate Malley, of St. Charles; and Kara Castaneda (Noel), of Aurora. She also is survived by great-grandchildren: Sean, Natalie and Kyle O’Reilly, of Shelby Township, Mich.; Connor Malley and Kendell Seelye, of St. Charles; and Finnegan Castaneda, of Aurora. She was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret; husband, Howard Miller; daughter, Kathleen Malley; aunt, Catherine Collins; uncle, John Collins; and nephew, Charles Collins.
