Lorrin A. Buechler, 84, of Geneseo, died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2018, at Good Samaritan, in Geneseo. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 2 at First Lutheran Church, in Geneseo. The Rev. Matt Kamprath will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, in Geneseo. A visitation will be one hour (9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.) prior to the funeral service at the church. Memorials may be directed to First Lutheran Church, in Geneseo. Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory, in Geneseo, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Lorrin was born April 1, 1933, in Geneseo, the son of Robert and Ruby (Klavohn) Buechler. He graduated from Geneseo High School in 1951, and served for two years in the United States Army, and spent 14 months in Korea. Lorrin was united in marriage to Donna M. Nelson in October of 1953. She preceded him in death on June 21, 2012. Lorrin was a longtime member of First Lutheran Church, in Geneseo. He worked as a smoked meats supervisor at Oscar Mayer & Co., in Davenport, Iowa, for more than 36 years before his retirement in 1992. Lorrin was active in his community and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He enjoyed golfing at the Geneseo Country Club, where he was a longtime member, and loved his two Yorkshire terrier puppies.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Larry (Donna) Buechler, of Sherrard; and Darcy (Ken) Hebdon, of Colorado; six grandchildren, Debra, David, Justin, Jacob, Kalen and Sarah; and three great-grandchildren. Lorrin also is survived by his brother, Don Buechler, of Geneseo; sister, Mildred (Jim) Weisser, of Geneseo; and another sister, Marilyn (Larry) Christensen, of Torrence, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Ruby; his loving wife, Donna; and a brother.
