Edwin C. Rahn, 78, of rural Geneseo, died Sunday, March 18, 2018, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services celebrating his life will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 23 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, in Edford Township. The Rev. Christopher Bushre will officiate. Burial will follow at St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery. A visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 22 at Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory, in Geneseo. Memorials may be directed to St. John’s Lutheran Church or Parkinson’s Research Association.

Edwin was born Feb. 16, 1940, in Geneseo, the son of Elmer Edwin Carl and Esther (Konhert) Rahn. He graduated from Geneseo High School with the Class of 1958. He was united in marriage to Wanda J. Burrell on May 23, 1965, at St. John’s Lutheran Church. Edwin was a lifetime grain and livestock farmer in Osco Township. Farming was his passion. Ed was the fourth generation to farm the family farm, and now his son is following as the fifth. He was extremely proud of the generational farming his family was able to accomplish. He was a member of the United States Army Reserve.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda; sons, Scott (Laurie) Rahn, of Osco; and Kevin (Stacie) Rahn, of Geneseo; daughter, Sandra Rahn, of Atkinson; and grandsons, Kyle and Kaleb Rahn; and step-grandsons, Kenneth Cullinson and Heath Church. He also is survived by his brother, James Rahn, of Atkinson; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Esther; and one brother, Elmer Rahn Jr.
