Glen R. Anderson, 84, of Geneseo, died Monday, May 28, 2018, at Good Samaritan Society, in Geneseo. A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 1 at First Lutheran Church, in Geneseo. The Rev. Matt Kamprath will officiate. A visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 31 at Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory, in Geneseo. Cremation will follow the funeral service, and a private inurnment will take place Saturday, June 2 at Oakwood Cemetery, in Geneseo. Memorials may be directed to First Lutheran Church, Ag in the Classroom or the Henry County 4-H Foundation.

Glen was born Nov. 26, 1933, in Geneseo, the son of Willard and Bernice (Stotmeister) Anderson. He was a 1951 graduate of J.D. Darnall High School. Glen married Genevieve “Jenny” L. Rahmus on April 18, 1953, at First Lutheran Church, in Geneseo. They had just celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.

He was a lifetime grain and livestock farmer in rural Geneseo. Glen was a lifetime member of First Lutheran Church and served on the church council. He also was a member of the Henry County Farm Bureau, Henry County Pork Producers and was a charter member of the Geneseo Jaycees. In his free time, Glen enjoyed gardening and traveling with Jenny, driving his restored tractor, and watching his grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s activities.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Jenny; sons, Mark (Darla) Anderson, of Geneseo; Wayne (Shelley) Anderson, of Geneseo; and Dave Anderson, of Hoffman Estates; son-in-law, Gordon (Nikki) Rehn, of Andover; grandchildren, Eric (Tara) Anderson, Justin (Holly) Anderson, Auguste Anderson, Adam Anderson, Aaron (Keely) Anderson, Ashley (Garrett) Mangan and Katherine (Mike) Halm; 12 great-grandchildren, Samantha, Isabelle, Bennett, Vivienne, Simon, Mason, Addison, Hudson, Raelynn, Shea, Grace and Andrew. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Bernice; his daughter, Linda Rehn; and a sister, Carol Eyrich.
