The sweet soul of Marie Frances DeNolf, 98, of Andover ascended into heaven on Sunday, Sept. 9, 2018, after a two-day stay at Hammond-Henry Hospital Long Term Care, Geneseo.

As per her wishes, cremation has been accorded, and there will be no visitation or services.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Marie was born Aug. 15, 1920, the daughter of Michael and Sophie Shuda. She attended St. Mary’s Catholic School in Moline. Her marriage to William F. DeNolf took place on May 23, 1953, in Moline. The couple moved to Andover in 1959.

She was a Fashion Two Twenty Cosmetic consultant for many years.

She loved to dance, crochet, knit and do any craft projects.

Her greatest joy was her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, and attending their events. They referred to her as Granny, Cuckoo, Granny-Great, and Granny-Grapes.

Marie loved birds, her favorite being the cardinal. She was a big Chicago Cubs fan.

Although she resided with her daughter, Carol “Sissie,” and son-in-law, Russ “Ruskie,” for the past year, she was able to enjoy her home in Andover a few times a week with her daughter, Linda “Deedle,” who took over the upkeep of the Wee Farm after Bill’s passing in 2006. Her husband, Steve, assisted in the maintenance.

Those left to remember and miss her terribly are Carol (Russ) Reed of Cambridge and Linda (Steve Swiger) Pettifer of Geneseo; nine grandchildren; one step-granddaughter; 26 great-grandchildren, two step-great-grandsons, and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

Her parents; her husband; a son, Jerry; and a daughter, Sandra, preceded her in death.
