Reiley W. Smith, 75, of Prophetstown, died Monday, Sept. 24, 2018, at Prophets Riverview Good Samaritan Center in Prophetstown.

Reiley W. Smith, 75, of Prophetstown, died Monday, Sept. 24, 2018, at Prophets Riverview Good Samaritan Center in Prophetstown.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 28, 2018, at Prophetstown United Methodist Church with Rev. Mark Meyers officiating. A visitation was held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27 at the Bosma-Gibson Funeral Home in Prophetstown. Interment will be in Tampico Memorial Cemetery in Tampico. A memorial has been established by the family.

Reiley was born March 8, 1943, in Princeton, to William R. and Mildred (Renner) Smith. He was educated in the Tampico grade schools and was a graduate of Tampico High School. He married Mary S. Burgess in Tampico on Sept. 28, 1963. Reiley was a life-long farmer. He was a member of the Prophetstown United Methodist Church. He enjoyed tractor pulls and was a member of the Riverbend Antique Tractor Pullers and the Eastern Iowa Antique Club. He also enjoyed playing cards. He especially loved spending time with his family and working on the farm.

Survivors include his wife, Mary; one daughter, Brenda Clementz of Geneseo; two sons, Robert (Tammy) Smith of Prophetstown, and William (Kathy) Smith of Erie; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Leland Smith.
