Each year something new is added to the fun and festivities at Geneseo’s Christmas Walk. New this year is a treasure hunt, “Wanna Build a Snowman?”

From 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. during the Christmas Walk on Saturday, Dec. 8, all children, accompanied by a parent or other adult, are invited to pick up their snowman-starter clues at Bethany Winkleman State Farm Agency, 113 South State St. Instructions will be included in the starter packet.

The miniature snowmen are made of Styrofoam and fabrics.

Participants will find a total of four clues at four area businesses and that will

enable them to complete the three-dimensional snowman.

When the children have collected all snowman pieces, they are invited to the entryway of Central Bank, 101 North State St., to assemble their snowman, which they may take home with them. There is no cost for the activity.

The idea for “Wanna Build a Snowman?” was created by Christmas Walk committee members April Davis, Brenda Jackson and Shanda Wood, employees at Central Bank.

“We came up with the idea of a scavenger hunt, not to change the Christmas Walk venue, but to add to the experience,” Wood said.

“As residents of Geneseo and regular participants in the Christmas Walk, we enjoy the traditions and events it provides each year,” she said.
