Officer Ray Cotty and Sgt. Casey Disterhoft of the Geneseo Police Department recently received plaques from the U.S. Secret Service in recognition of work the pair did in 2008 to arrest a trio of counterfeiters who were in possession of $2,100 in fake $100 bills. The three were arrested during a traffic stop on Interestate 80. Geneseo Police Chief Tom Piotrowski presented plaques to the officers at the Aug. 10 city council meeting.
