On Monday, June 1, U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack will hold a rural community forum in Geneseo.
The forum will be from 10 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. in the Geneseo High School library. Doors will open to the public from 9:15 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Overflow space will be available in the auditorium for audio-only listening. During the forum, Vilsack will share information with local residents about the work the United States Department of Agriculture is doing to revitalize and rebuild rural America and ask how USDA can be helpful in supporting and initiating other programs and projects to hep the community participate fully and successfully in the 21st century economy.
Vilsack also will highlight American Renewal and Reinvestment Act projects improving communities in Illinois and benefiting people throughout rural  America.
The USDA provides leadership on food, agriculture and natural resources and touches the life of every American. Sec. Vilsack and the USDA are working to promote a sustainable, safe, sufficient and nutritious food supply, ensure that America leads the global fight against climate change, and revitalize rural communities by expanding economic opportunities.
