Sandra K. Nelson, 66, of Port Byron, died June 22, 2009, at her home. Funeral services were held Thursday, June 25, at Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Visitation was held Wednesday, June 24, at the funeral home. Burial was in Moline Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.

Dale W. Richter, 82, of rural Atkinson died Wednesday, June 17, 2009, at Hillcrest Nursing Home, Geneseo. A Funeral Mass celebrating his life was held Monday, June 22, 2009 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Annawan. The Rev. Jerry Logan officiated. Burial was in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Annawan. Military honors were accorded by the Atkinson American Legion. Visitation was held Sunday, June 21, at Vandemore Funeral Home, Atkinson where a Rosary was recited.
An additional visitation was held one hour prior to Mass at the church. In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family requests donations be made to Hillcrest Home in Geneseo or the Kewanee Hospice.

James “Jim” Shaw Bohmker, 93, of Corvallis, Ore., died quietly May 22, 2009, at his home, in the arms of his loving wife, Sarah. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 20, 2009, at 1 p.m. at the South Albany Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Albany, Ore.

Celia M. Clubb, 69, of Geneseo died Saturday, June 13, 2009 at her residence. Per her requests cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no services. Private Inurnment will be at the Oakwood Memorial Park, Northridge, Calif. at a later date. Vandemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Geneseo assisted the family with arrangements.

John C. Dalin, 81, of Geneseo died Sunday, June 14, 2009 at his home. Per his requests cremation rites have been accorded. Memorial services celebrating his life will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, June 19, at Vandemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Geneseo. Deacon Harley Chaffee will officiate. Inurnment will be private. Memorial may be left to the Geneseo Humane Society Animal Shelter.

Hayden T. De Decker, 83, of Geneseo died Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at the Geneseo Good Samaritan Village. A Funeral Mass celebrating his life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 19 at St. Malachy’s Catholic Church, Geneseo. The Rev. Michael Pakula will celebrate. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services. Private inurnment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo. Jean M. Deininger, 84, of Coal Valley, died Saturday, June 13, 2009, in OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria. Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 20 at New Hope Baptist Church, Coal Valley.  Burial will be in Coal Valley Cemetery. Esther I. Follin, 89, a resident of Hillcrest Home, rural Geneseo, formerly of Cambridge, was ushered into heaven surrounded by her loving family on Friday, June 12, 2009 at Hammond-Henry Hospital, Geneseo. Funeral services were held Monday, June 15 at the Osco Community Church, Osco. The Rev. Doug Shook officiated. Burial was in Rosedale Cemetery, Cambridge. Robert J. “Bob” Martin, 76, of rural Cambridge, died Thursday, June 11, 2009, at his home. Funeral services celebrating his life were held Monday, June 15, at Vandemore Funeral Home, Geneseo. H. Wayne “Andy” Anderson, 86, of Geneseo, died Tuesday, June 9, 2009, at Hillcrest Nursing Home, Geneseo. Donna J. “Mother” Pobanz, 72, of Geneseo, died Thursday, June 4, 2009, at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus, Davenport, Iowa. Karen N. Schneider, 70, of Colona, died Monday, June 8, 2009, at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island, surrounded by her loving family. Thelma McElroy, 79, of Houston, Texas, died Friday, May 22, 2009, in Houston. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 13, at Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo. The Rev. Bill Werner of First United Methodist Church, Geneseo, will officiate. Family and friends are welcome to attend the graveside service. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
