The Geneseo boys’ bowling team competed in the Freeport Tournament against some of the top teams in the state of Illinois.

The Maple Leafs finished in 15th place (4397) at the tournament held at the 4 Seasons Bowling Center on Dec. 17

Machesney Park Harlem’s Orange and Black teams finished 1-2 for the team title.

Geneseo’s Alex Williams led the way for the Leafs with a team-high 1009 series, and Kyle Cones rolled his way to a 941 series.

Kyler Rusk finished with an 894 series, and Braeden Keller tallied an 818 series.

The Leafs’ Jacob Verplaetse rounded out the varsity scores with a 735 series.

Geneseo’s next competition will be on the road against Ottawa on Thursday, Jan. 5 at 4 p.m.
