Myrtle Beach Invitational

The Lady Leafs’ final game in Myrtle Beach, S.C. was an 11-0 victory in five innings against Olean, N.Y., on April 12.

Geneseo pitching continued to be stellar with Jane Thomas earning her sixth win of the season.

Thomas allowed one hit in four innings of work while striking out eight without allowing a free pass.

Delaney Ostrowski finished off the final inning with a pair of strikeouts.

At the plate, Geneseo scored four runs on five hits in the first inning to take an early lead.

Ostrowski, Maddie Mackey and Caitlin Gilmore hit back-to-back-to back doubles to get the Leafs’ offense rolling.

Gilmore tallied three RBIs, and Anna McAvoy hit an RBI triple.

Breanna Jones finished with a double and a triple, and Ava Bieneman finished with two hits and a RBI.

Jasmine McCormick tallied a pair of RBIs and a stolen base.

Geneseo at Galesburg

A team can’t win if they don’t score, and right now, the Lady Leafs’ pitching staff isn’t letting any team score.

Thomas and Ostrowski combined for a three-hit shutout effort on the

circle, and Geneseo defeated the Silver Streaks 10-0 in five innings in Galesburg on April 17.

Thomas pitched three innings allowing one hit while striking out three.

Ostrowski allowed two hits in two innings and struck out two.

The Lady Leafs’ offense scored five runs in the second inning with two out to take a commanding 6-0 lead.

Gilmore finished 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, and Allison Yager drove in a pair of runs.

McCormick drove in a run on two hits, and Ostrowski hit a pair of singles.

DeKalb at Geneseo

There’s no place like home, and the Lady Leafs proved that defeating DeKalb 9-1 at the JF Edwards Complex on April 18.

Geneseo got started fast at the plate. Mackey hit a two-run home run in the first inning, and Yager hit a run-scoring single to give the Leafs a 3-0 lead.

Briley Koberlein hit a two-run single in the fifth inning, and Jones followed with a RBI single.

McCormick finished with a pair of hits and two stolen bases.

Gilmore had a pair of hits including a double, and Yager had two hits including a double.

April 25 at 4:30 p.m. Youth players will be celebrated with a group
picture of the Lady Leafs and youth players together before Geneseo’s game against Ottawa. During the game, Geneseo will have giveaways for youth players, and the Lady Leafs will sign autographs after the game.
