Geneseo at Sterling

The Lady Leafs have scored in bunches, but it only took one to earn Geneseo a victory over the Golden Warriors on April 13.

Geneseo’s Tori Verbeck scored on a cross from Rachel Daniels in the opening half, and the Leafs’ defense pitched its seventh shutout in nine games.

Leafs’ keeper Taylor Magerkurth has allowed a total of three goals in nine games this season.

Geneseo put 13 shot on goal, while the Leafs held Sterling without a shot on net.

Ottawa at Geneseo

The Lady Leafs couldn’t miss during an 8-0 victory over Ottawa at the Geneseo Soccer Pitch on April 18.

Geneseo took a 7-0 lead into halftime, and held Ottawa to just a single shot on goal in the first half.

The Lady Leafs’ Heather Dietrich finished with a pair of goals and an assist.

Geneseo’s Rachel Daniels and Keeli Frerichs scored a pair of goals before halftime to blow open the game.

Before Daniels’ goal, the Leafs tried to get a sub Dietrich back into the game for Daniels.

However, play resumed before Geneseo could make the switch and Daniels found the net for a score.

Lauren Henderson scored on an assist from Ellie Korthals, and Verbeck found the back of the net.

Geneseo’s next game will be on the road against Sycamore on Tuesday, April 25 at 4:30 p.m.
