Dwight wins softball game

    Abby Edwards had one more hit batting than she allowed pitching in leading Dwight to a 9-0 Sangamon Valley Conference softball win over host Paxton-Buckley-Loda Friday afternoon.
    Edwards yielded one hit and walked one while striking out 15 Panthers in the circle for the pitching victory. She had a pair of hits and drove in a run at the plate.
    The Trojans gave Edwards a lead before she took the ball in the circle with a run in the top of the first inning. It was 2-0 after DTHS scored in the fourth as PBL was keeping the Trojans in check.
    Then came the top of the seventh inning, when the Dwight bats erupted for seven runs to make it a blow out.
    Hayley Schlawbowske led the the Dwight attack with two doubles, a single and three runs batted in. Sydney Christensen also had a pair of two-baggers, a single and drove in a run. Taylor Anderson had three hits, including a double, and two RBIs and Becky Ruder singled thrice and had an RBI. Edwards singled twice and Macey Rodosky and Kaitlyn Masching each had one hit.
