Rock Falls Invite

The Lady Leafs finished runner-up in the Class A competition at the Rock Falls Invite, at Rock River Country Club, on Aug. 19.

Geneseo (368) finished second in the 15-team field behind Rockford Lutheran (325), who finished third at the state meet last season.

Geneseo’s Emma Snell fired an 87 finishing a stroke out of fifth place individually.

The Leafs’ Jenna Cheek wasn’t far behind with an 89, and Lauren Murray carded a 94.

The Lady Leafs’ Elizabeth Roodhouse finished with a 98, and Eryn Murray fired a 100.

Heather Dietrich rounded out the varsity scores with a 110 for the Lady Leafs.

Rockford Lutheran’s Brighton Young carded a 76 to finish with individual medalist honors.

Geneseo’s team score would have put them second place in the large school competition as well finishing behind only Galesburg’s team score of 352.

Geneseo Triangular

The Lady Leafs picked up a triangular victory over Rockridge and Princeton at Geneseo Country Club, on Aug. 21.

Geneseo (181) held off runner-up Princeton (228) by 47 strokes and Rockridge finished in third place (241).

The Lady Leafs’ Roodhouse earned medalist honors carding a 44, and Geneseo combined to shoot a 181 team score.

Snell and Eryn Murray fired a 45, and Cheek finished with a 47.

The Leafs’ Dietrich carded a 50, and Lauren Murray rounded out the varsity scores with a 54.

Geneseo’s JV (224) strung together a solid score that would have landed them second in the varsity competition.

Carson Dodge led the way for the Lady Leafs with a 50, and Eleni Andrios finished with a 56.

The Lady Leafs’ Andie Welch and Rachel Vondra each fired a 59.

Jenah Hart finished with a 68, and Geneseo’s Paige Laingen shot a 74.

The Leafs next rounds will be at the Rock Island Triangular, at Saukie Golf Course, on Tuesday, Aug. 29 at 4 p.m.
