Geneseo at Alleman

The Maple Leafs fell a few strokes shy in a dual match against Alleman at Indian Bluff Golf Course, in Milan on Aug. 23.

The Pioneers tallied a 169-176 victory over Geneseo with Alleman’s Ryan Rochholz earning medalist honors with a 38.

A trio of Geneseo players tied for the low team round with Mick Haverland, Will Pace and Devin VanRycke each carding a 43.

The Leafs’ Ty Johnson fired a 47, and Patrick Turpin finished with a 49.

Danny Ford rounded out the varsity scores with a 51.

Geneseo’s JV team nabbed a victory with a 178-189 victory over the Pioneers.

Zachary Henderson shot the Maple Leafs’ low round with a 43, and Derek Johnson was a stroke back with a 44.

Geneseo’s Jarron Nordstrom fired a 45, and Shane Lievens finished with a 46.

The Leafs’ Jack Roberts carded a 52, and Chase VanKlaveren finished with a 54.

Geneseo at Ottawa

The Maple Leafs held on for a narrow 170-174 dual victory over the Pirates on Aug. 24.

Haverland and Turpin each fired a 42 for Geneseo to lead the team.

The Leafs’ Pace, VanRycke, Ty Johnson and Ford each finished with a 43 to string together a solid team score.

The Leafs’ Nordstrom carded a 44, and Geneseo’s Seth Winchell finished with a 47.

Geneseo Invite

The Maple Leafs’ Haverland earned a sixth-place finish, and the Geneseo varsity team landed sixth (322) in a competitive 12-team field at Sugar Maple Golf Club on Aug. 26.

Haverland was the only local golfer to finish in the top 10 individually with Naperville Central taking the team title with a 302.

Geneseo’s Winchell was near the top of the leaderboard with a 77, and Ford finished with an 85.

Pace carded an 86, and Turpin turned in an 87.

Geneseo’s VanRycke nabbed a 90 for the Geneseo varsity squad.

The Maple Leafs’ Ty Johnson was the surprise of the tournament with an 81 as part of the Geneseo white team.

Kyle Pittenger notched an 89, and Nordstrom finished with a 96.

Henderson tallied a 97 for Geneseo, and Roberts finished with a 102.

The Leafs’ Derek Johnson landed with a 103.

Geneseo at Sterling

The Maple Leafs were edged by the Golden Warriors 160-164 at Emerald Hill Golf Course on Aug. 29.

Haverland led the Leafs with a round of 40, and Geneseo’s Turpin and Nordstrom each finished with a 41.

Geneseo’s Ford carded a 42, and Pace finished with a 45.

The Leafs’ VanRycke put together a 46, and Ty Johnson and Winchell each shot a 47.

The Maple Leafs’ next rounds will be at the Rock Falls Invite, at Rock River Country Club on Saturday, Sept. 2 at 8 a.m.
