The Geneseo girls’ cross country team finished third at the Galesburg Invite among an 11-team field, and Josie Brown finished in the top 10 individually.

The Geneseo girls’ cross country team finished third at the Galesburg Invite among an 11-team field, and Josie Brown finished in the top 10 individually.

The Lady Leafs’ Brown led the team with a seventh-place finish in 19:19 at Lake Storey Park, on Sept. 2.

Geneseo’s Lauren Belvel finished 19th with a time of 19:57, and Anna Girten landed 47th in 21:03.

The Leafs’ Julia Poel came in 83rd place with a time of 21:22, and Claire Hall finished in 122nd place in 21:42.

Rounding out the varsity team was Veronica Eilers who crossed the finish line in 166th place in 22:01, and Adia Raya finished in 214th with a time of 22:31.

Geneseo’s frosh/soph team finished in fourth place at Lake Storey Park.

The Lady Leafs’ Megan Soria raced to a 12th-place finish in 21:55, and Tricia Elden crossed in 27th place in 22:16.

Geneseo’s Anna Pierce came in 45th place in 22:22, and Emma Terronez finished in 64th place in 23:14.

The Leafs’ Avery Magerkurth crossed the finish line in 86th place in 23:51, and Morgan Laxton finished 111st in 24:21.

Geneseo’s Clare LeGrand landed 138th in 24:26.

The Leafs’ next competition will be at the Peoria Woodruff Invite at Detweiller Park, in Peoria, on Saturday, Sept. 9 at 10:20 a.m.
