Sterling at Geneseo

The Lady Leafs held on for a 3-2 victory over the Golden Warriors at Richmond Hill Tennis Courts, on Sept. 12.

Geneseo’s Bryann Brophy earned a 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 1 singles, and Madi Miller and Jane Thomas cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 1 doubles.

The Leafs’ Mary Thomas and Gracie Strohm nabbed a 6-1, 7-5 victory at No. 2 doubles.

Ava Bieneman and Kaitlyn Webster lost a marathon match 6-7 (4-7), 6-3, 6-2.

Geneseo couldn’t lock down a win in the JV competition falling 3-2.

The Leafs’ Emma Claeys and Chloe Adams earned a win at No. 1 doubles 6-0, 7-5.

Geneseo’s Ali Craig and Emma Slaymaker won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 3 doubles.

Galesburg Invite

The Lady Leafs’ Jane Thomas and Madi Miller earned third in the No. 1 doubles competition, and Geneseo finished third among an eight-team field at the Galesburg Invite on Sept. 16.

Jane Thomas and Madi Miller won the third-place match against Sacred Heart-Griffin, 6-0, 7-5.

Brophy finished fourth in the No. 1 singles bracket after falling in a close three-set battle 6-3, 4-6, 10-7.

The Leafs’ Emma Dunker earned third in the No. 2 doubles bracket winning the third-place match 6-2, 6-4.

Mary Thomas and Gracie Strohm nabbed a 6-3, 6-1 victory in the No. 2 doubles bracket to finish third place.

Alleman at Geneseo

The Pioneers shut out Geneseo at Richmond Hill Tennis Courts, on Sept. 18.

Dunker played a close match in singles, but she was defeated by Brooke McKeown 7-5, 6-3.

Madi Miller and Jane Thomas fell 6-3, 6-1 against Lauren Hird and Noely Baumann in the No. 1 doubles match.

The Leafs’ Bieneman and Webster took the No. 3 doubles match to a tiebreaker but fell 6-3, 7-6 (7-3).

Geneseo’s JV team picked up some victories in doubles action.

Rebecca Clementz and Stella Corgan nabbed an 8-3 victory, and Hailey Craig and Evy Strohm won an 8-5 match.

The Leafs’ Lexee Hodge and Emily Henson earned an 8-3 win, and Kristin Polowy and Gabi Allen cruised to an 8-0 victory.

GHS’ Bailey Spindel and Isabella Hart dominated an 8-1 match, and Makenzie Thompson and Jessie Daly managed a 6-5 victory.

The Lady Leafs continued their winning ways in conference sweeping the Hubs 5-0, on Sept. 19.

Brophy earned a 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 1 singles, and Dunker picked up a 6-0, 6-2 win.

Madi Miller and Thomas cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 1 doubles, and Mary Thomas and Gracie Strohm dominated with a 6-0, 6-1 win.

Geneseo’s Bieneman and Webster notched a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 3 doubles.

Geneseo’s frosh/soph team added a 5-0 victory over the Hubs.

Allison Bowers won the No. 1 singles match 6-0, 6-0, and Brooke Harms locked up a 6-1, 6-3 win.

Claeys and Adams won the No. 1 doubles match 6-4, 6-1, and Alli Miller and Katerina Eilers nabbed a 6-4, 6-2 win.

Geneseo’s Ali Craig and Slaymaker picked up a 6-1, 6-1 victory.
