Peoria Invitational

Geneseo’s Josie Brown set a new personal record and finished in the top 10 at the Peoria Invitational, held at Detweiller Park, in Peoria.

Brown finished seventh with a time of 18:04 to lead the Lady Leafs’ pack to a 14th-place team finish among a 32-team field.

Geneseo’s Anna Girten ran down a 73rd-place finish in 19:39, and Lauren Belvel was a few steps back in 74th place in 19:40.

The Leafs’ Julia Poel crossed the finish line in 88th in 19:52, and Claire Hall finished in 115th in 20:49.

Geneseo’s Megan Soria landed in 136th place in 20:49, and Anna Pierce finished in 148th in 21:11.

Freeport Invitational

The rest of the Lady Leafs team nabbed eighth place at the Freeport Invite, at Highland Community College, on Sept. 30.

Geneseo’s Morgan Laxton led the way with a 25th place time of 23:13.

The Lady Leafs’ Joci Hasson ran down 47th place in 24:47, and Brandi Gatter finished 52nd in 25:20.

Geneseo’s Emma Heller worked her way up to 57th in 25:52, and Zoey Gomez finished 76th in 30:23.
