Geneseo soccer team shows support for Schefsky
At a team dinner Oct. 2, the Geneseo boys’ soccer team presented a $1,000 check to Tony Schefsky, center, father of their teammate Trevor Schefsky. Trevor has been in Cincinnati, Ohio, Children’s Hospital since March with a rare immune deficiency disease, DADA2, and had one bone marrow transplant with another transplant on the horizon in the next few weeks. The Maple Leafs have dedicated their season to Trevor, Livestreaming games with him and wearing patches on their sleeves with a green ribbon and a soccer ball. To raise funds for Trevor, the team also sold spirit wear this year promoting soccer with the #Trevstrong hashtag; they also held an ice cream
social benefit.
