The Geneseo boys’ golf team had their season come to an end at the Class 2A Grayslake Central Sectional at Stonewall Orchard, in Grayslake, on Oct. 10.

With the top three teams qualifying for the state tournament, Geneseo finished in ninth with a team score of 358.

A sophomore, the Leafs’ Seth Winchell continued his impressive run carding a 86.

With the top ten individuals advancing to the state meet, Winchell fell two strokes shy of advancing with the final four advancing golfers finishing with a score of 84 amidst trying rainy and windy conditions.

GHS’ Devin VanRycke rode a hot start to an 88, and Mick Haverland caught fire on the back nine to finish with a 90.

The Leafs’ Will Pace fired a 94, and Patrick Turpin finished with a 101.

A sophomore, Geneseo’s Danny Ford carded a 102.
