The Maple Leafs were held off in the season opener against the Pirates 3620-2881 at Dettore’s Downtown Lanes, on Nov. 7.

Geneseo’s Kyler Rusk led the way with a high three-game set of 677, and Kyle Cones finished with a three-game set of 605.

The Leafs’ Braeden Keller rolled his way to a 532, and Logan Munoz finished with a 425 series.

Geneseo’s Sebastian Einfeldt added a series of 371, and Tyler Durnell finished with a 271 series.

In JV action, Ottawa topped Geneseo 2610-1930.

The Maple Leafs’ Ethan Welfer lead the team with a 430 series, and Aidan Grafft finished with a 400 series.

Geneseo’s Jacob Endress tacked on a series of 315, and Justin Ford finished with a series of 277.

The Leafs’ Kaden Splear rolled to a 266, and Aidan Bushre finished a two-game series with 165.

Carson McKeag rounded out the scores with a one-game total of 77.

DeKalb at Geneseo

The Barbs held off the Maple Leafs by a thin 3364-3052 margin in the home opener at Lee’s Lanes, on Nov. 9.

Geneseo’s Cones rolled a team-best three-game series of 627, and Rusk finished with a 579 series.

Keller tallied a pinfall of 543, and Einfeldt finished with a 471 series.

Geneseo’s Munoz rolled his way to a 443 series, and McAvoy finished with a 389 series.

The Geneseo JV team upped their team score to 2141 in the home opener.

The Leafs’ Welfer led the way with a 495 series, and Durnell finished with a 403 series.

Geneseo’s Kody Brower rolled his way to a 337 series, and Endress finished with a 329 series.

The Leafs’ Grafft landed with a 316 series, and Splear finished with a 261 series.

Geneseo’s Riley DeCock tallied a 304 series, and Ford finished with a 301 series.

Aidan Bushre rolled to a 277 series, and Carson McKeag finished with a 276 series.

The Leafs’ Jack Sellers powered his way 272 series, and Austin Baldwin finished with a 294 series.

Geneseo’s Trevor Shipman finished with a series of 267.

Leroy Lohman Invitational

The Maple Leafs earned their highest team finish as host of the Leroy Lohman Invitational at Lee’s Lanes, on Nov. 11.

Geneseo wrapped up a fifth-place finish (5071) in the second-annual tournament, with Hononegah earning the team title (5885) in the eight-team field.

Geneseo’s Rusk finished with the sixth highest six-game series with a 1192, and he had the fifth highest single-game pinfall with a 248 game.

The Leafs’ Cones rolled his way to an 1133 six-game series, and Munoz finished with a series of 1047.

Geneseo’s Keller landed with a 1003 series, and Welfer finished with a 696 series.

In the JV tournament, Geneseo had three teams compete in the six-team field.

The Maple Leafs top JV team finished third (3889), Geneseo’s third JV team finished fifth (3187) and Geneseo’s second JV team finished sixth (3007).

Geneseo’s Grafft had the high series on the JV No. 1 team with an 810 series, and Splear finished with the high series on the JV No. 2 team with a 730 series.

Baldwin finished with the high Geneseo series on the JV No. 3 team with a 714.

Yorkville at Geneseo

The Maple Leafs’ scores continued to improve, but Yorkville claimed a 3406-3235 win at Lee’s Lanes, on Nov. 13.

Geneseo’s Cones had duals high three-game series with a 704, and Keller finished with a 583 series.

Rusk rolled his way to a 561 series, and Einfeldt finished with a 543 series.

Geneseo’s Munoz landed with a 484 series, and Alex McAvoy finished with a 360 series.

Geneseo’s JV team fell against Yorkville, 2689-2111.

The Leafs’ Durnell paced the JV team with a 377 series, and Splear finished with a 343 series.

Endress tallied a pinfall of 338, and Welfer finished with a 328 series.

The Leafs’ Hofer notched a 376 series, and Grafft finished with a 353 series.
