Geneseo vs. Woodstock

Isaiah Rivera brought Geneseo out of hibernation by scoring 37 points to lift the Maple Leafs over Woodstock 71-67 in Marengo, on Dec. 27.

With Geneseo leading 48-44 at the start of the fourth quarter, Rivera scored 14 points in the final period to close out the victory in the first-round consolation game.

Griffin Tracey made 5-of-6 from the free throw line in the fourth quarter, and Jarron Nordstrom finished the game with 13 points.

The Maple Leafs’ Mick Haverland heated up scoring nine points, and Tim Lehman finished with four points.

Ty Johnson scored two points, and Jacob McConnell made 1-of-2 from the free-throw line.

Geneseo vs. Wauconda

The Maple Leafs let a fourth-quarter lead slip away falling 53-47 against Wauconda, on Dec. 28.

Geneseo outscored Wauconda 21-10 in the third quarter to take a 40-36 lead in the second round consolation game.

However, Wauconda returned the favor outscoring Geneseo 17-7 in the final period.

Rivera scored a team-high 19 points, and Nordstrom continued to shoot well finishing with 15 points.

Geneseo’s Tracey scored six points, and Johnson finished with three points.

The Maple Leafs’ Wilson and Haverland each scored two points.

Geneseo vs. Sycamore

The Maple Leafs fell 53-51 against Sycamore in a hard-fought third-place consolation game, on Dec. 29.

Geneseo’s Tracey and Rivera each scored 13 points.

Nordstrom finished with nine points, and Johnson had a solid game with seven points.

Geneseo’s McConnell finished the game with six points, and Haverland hit a 3-pointer.

The Maple Leafs will open the New Year with a Northern Illinois Big 12 Conference game on the road against Sycamore on Friday, Jan. 5 at 7 p.m.
