The Lady Leafs’ gymnastics team hosted DeKalb at the Geneseo Invitational, at the Geneseo Community Center, on Jan. 13.

Geneseo’s Brynn Johnson finished fourth in the all-around with a score of 29.7.

A sophomore, Brynn Johnson finished with team-best scores on the uneven bars (7.2) and on the balance beam (8.1).

The Leafs’ Alexys Johnson finished fifth in the all-around with a score of 28.6.

A junior, Alexys Johnson’s floor performance was the Lady Leafs best of the meet with a 7.5.

Geneseo’s Madison Koustas finished sixth with a score of 27.25.

A senior, Koustas’ best event was on the vault where she scored a 7.45 to finish 10th.

The Leafs’ Emma Heller finished seventh in the all-around with a score of 26.75.

A sophomore, Heller finished sixth on the uneven bars with a score of 6.1.

Geneseo’s Caylie Hessler finished sixth in the vault with a team-best score of 8.05.

Ranked second in the state of Illinois, DeKalb won the team title 143.5-114.3 over Geneseo.

In the JV competition, Geneseo’s Grace Girten won the all-around title with a score of 29.8.

A freshman, Girten won the individual title on the uneven bars with an 8.0.

The Leafs’ Evie Wilson finished second in the all-around with a score of 29.15.

A freshman, Wilson had the teams’ best performance on the uneven bars taking second with a 6.7.

Geneseo’s Sarah Korthals finished fourth in the all-around with a score of 23.7.

A sophomore, Korthals had a pair of fifth-place finishes in the vault (7.4) and on the uneven bars (4.8).

The Lady Leafs’ Haylee Krebs finished third individually for her floor routine (7.2), and Taylor Smith finished highest in the vault with a fourth-place finish (7.5).
