Geneseo’s Kyler Rusk had his postseason trip come to a close at the DeKalb Sectional boys’ bowling tournament.

Rusk finished with a 1272 six-game series at Mardi Gras Lanes in DeKalb on Jan. 20.

Competing as an individual, Rusk fell 43 pins shy of becoming the first Geneseo bowler to reach the state meet.

In Geneseo’s first year of being an official school sport, Rusk was the lone bowler to advance to sectional meet.

In 2016, Evan Emerick, Trent Schulz and Alex Williams advanced to the sectional meet with the Geneseo bowling club.

In 2015, the Geneseo bowling club advanced Williams and Schulz to the sectional meet.
