The Lady Leafs’ Emily Pobanz qualified for the LaSalle-Peru Sectional as the Geneseo bowling team began postseason competition, and Rachel Clementz became the first Geneseo bowler to earn All-Conference honors.

Geneseo at Kaneland

The Lady Leafs’ Pobanz rolled her way to a three-game series high of 596, and Geneseo toppled Kaneland 2947-1484 on Jan. 31.

A junior, Pobanz added a single game high of 236.

The Lady Leafs’ Clementz wasn’t far back finishing with a 492 series, and Delaney Ostrowski finished with a 485 series.

A freshman, Breann Keller continued her strong finish to the season rolling a 488 series that included a 210 game.

The Lady Leafs’ Karis Ostrowski rolled her way to a 455 series, and Jenah Hart finished with a 431 series.

NIB 12 Conference

The Lady Leafs’ Clementz became the first Geneseo bowler to earn Northern Illinois Big 12 Conference honors.

Clementz rolled a team-best 1182 six-game series to finish in 11th place at the NIB 12 tournament hosted by Morris on Feb. 1.

A senior, Geneseo’s Clementz earned the honor for her performance during the dual meet season paired with her conference tournament finish.

In Geneseo’s first official NIB 12 Conference season, the Lady Leafs finished fifth as a team with a team total of 6040 among a 10-team field.

Pobanz finished 17th with an 1119 series, and Keller finished with a 997 series.

The Leafs’ Hart rolled her way to a 977 series, and Karis Ostrowski finished with a 930 series.

The Lady Leafs’ Delaney Ostrowski finished with an 835 series.

Rock Island Regional

Geneseo’s Pobanz secured a sectional berth advancing as an individual from the Rock Island Regional held at the QC Family Entertainment Center, in Moline, on Feb. 3.

A junior, Pobanz finished 10th overall with an 1165 series to earn a spot among the top 10 individuals not on an advancing team to move on to sectionals.

She put herself in a great position to advance to sectionals after rolling a 246 in her third game of the tourney, the seventh best game of the tournament.

Sterling won the team title with a 5664 team total, and Geneseo finished eighth (4993) among the 12-team field.

The Leafs’ Keller was solid reaching a 1007 series, and Clementz finished with a 995 series.

Delaney Ostrowski rolled her way to an 897 series, and Karis Ostrowski finished with a three-game series of 471.

Geneseo’s Hart finished with a 458 three-game series.

Last season, Geneseo qualified for sectionals as a team finishing in fourth place at the regional tournament.

In 2016, the Leafs’ Andrea Wagoner and Clementz qualified as individuals for sectionals.

Pobanz will strive to become the first Geneseo bowler to reach the state meet when she competes at the LaSalle-Peru Sectional held at the Illinois Valley Super Bowl, in Peru, on Feb. 10.
