Geneseo at LaSalle-Peru

The Lady Leafs scored four first-half goals on its way to a 7-1 victory over the Lady Cavaliers, at the L-P Sports Complex, on April 26.

Rachel Daniels scored four goals, and Kennady Thies scored a goal and added an assist.

The Lady Leafs’ Taylor DeSplinter and MaKenzie Thompson each scored a goal.

Heather Dietrich finished with two assists, and Sydney Anast added an assist.

Geneseo at United Township

The Lady Leafs scored three goals in the opening 17 minutes to earn a 5-0 victory over the Lady Panthers, at the Panther Pitch, on April 27.

Geneseo pressure led to an own goal in the first 10 minutes, and DeSplinter found the back of the net with an assist from Kristin Polowy just five minutes later.

GHS took a 3-0 advantage on Thompson goal in the 17th minute with an assist from Dietrich.

Geneseo added two more goals in the second half with Rachel Daniels and Keeli Frerichs scoring.

The Lady Leafs outshot United Township 20-7 in the match, and Lauren Pardoe finished with three saves.

The Geneseo girls’ soccer team will begin postseason play, in Sterling, on Tuesday, May 15 at 4:30 p.m.

The (No. 2 seed) Lady Leafs will play (No. 8 seed) LaSalle-Peru in the semifinal match with the winner advancing to the regional championship on Saturday, May 19 at 11 a.m.
