The Maple Leafs’ baseball team finished their series with Ottawa and battled against future rival Moline.

Ottawa at Geneseo

The Maple Leafs had another solid performance from Kyle Pittenger, but Geneseo came up short against Ottawa falling 5-3 at Stone Field on May 4.

A senior, Pittenger pitched a complete game allowing three earned runs on nine hits with one walk and six strikeouts.

Geneseo tied the game in the fifth inning, but the Leafs saw the Pirates retake the lead 5-2 in the top of the sixth.

Kyle Toone finished 2-for-3 with a doubled and drove in two runs, and Colton Garcia had a pair of hits.

PJ Moser and Ty Johnson each finished with a hit, and Cole Hartman drew a pair of walks.

Moline at Geneseo

The Maroons were sharp against the Maple Leafs in the battle between soon to be conference rivals at Stone Field on May 7.

Moline defeated Geneseo 9-0 and held the Maple Leafs to four hits.

The Leafs’ Kyle Wise had a pair of hits, and Jacob McConnell and Isaiah Rivera each singled.

The Maple Leafs next games will come at the St. Bede Academy Invite hosted by Geneseo at Stone Field on Saturday, May 12.

Geneseo will play against St. Bede starting at 10 a.m., and the Leafs will play a matinee game against Bloomington Central Catholic at 2 p.m.
