The Lady Leafs’ cross country team had a slew of season-best times at the Runnin’ Red Invite at Black Partridge Park on Oct. 6.

The Leafs were separated from their first runner to their seventh runner by 3:10.1.

With a downpour drenching the course, Geneseo’s Josie Brown and Julia Poel each earned medals against teams the Lady Leafs will face at regionals and sectionals.

A senior, Brown came in sixth in 18:02.9, and Julia Poel finished 31st in 19:11.2.

A freshmen, Geneseo’s Lacey Laxton raced her way to a 40th place finish in 19:35.2, and Lauren Belvel came in 48th in 19:52.1.

Anna Girten rounded out the Lady Leafs’ scoring finishing 51st in 19:56.8.

The Lady Leafs’ Avery Magerkurth landed 77th in 20:26.2, and Anna Pierce finished 78th in 20:26.9.

In the frosh/soph competition, Geneseo’s Taya Fouts led the way with an 83rd place finish in 24:00.7.

Joci Hasson raced to an 88th place finish in 24:13.5, and Ashton Woulf came in 99th place in 24:51.3.
