Clarence H. Wade, 68, of Atkinson, died Friday, Nov. 13, 2009,  in the emergency room of Hammond-Henry Hospital, Geneseo. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 18, at Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services, Geneseo. The Rev. Joe Kobernat officiated. Burial was in Swan Lake Memory Gardens, Peoria, with a graveside service. Visitation was held Tuesday, Nov. 17, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, Geneseo.

He was born Sept. 25, 1941, in Peoria, the son of Mason and Doris (Glazebrook) Wade. He married Sherrie K. Harms Nov. 25, 1961, in Mapleton Township, Peoria. A US Air Force veteran, he was a member of First Baptist Church, Geneseo, and a former member of the Izaak Walton League. He enjoyed grilling and cooking, doing puzzles, camping, his grandchildren, and woodworking.

Survivors include his wife, Sherrie; four sons and spouses, Charles Wade of Geneseo, Gary Wade of Annawan, Robert and Erin Wade of Geneseo and Daniel and Charlene Wade of West Des Moines, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandson; his mother, Doris Paris of Washington; two sisters and spouses, Lori and Keith Rider of East Peoria and Nancy and Tim Voss of Jackson, Calif.; and two brothers and spouses, Jay and Donna Paris of Princeton, Ky. and Nick and Gretel Paris of Elizabethtown, Ky. He was preceded in death by his father and two brothers, William and Richard Wade.
