Margery L. Heeren, 82, of Geneseo, died Saturday, March 6, 2010, at her home. Funeral services celebrating her life were held Wednesday, March 10, at Vandemore Funeral Home Ltd., Geneseo. The Rev. Dave Schultz, pastor of Orion United Methodist Church, officiated. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo. Visitation was held Tuesday, March 9, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Margery L. Heeren Memorial Fund.

She was born March 25, 1927, in Geneseo, the daughter of Walter and June (Crook) Schweninger. She was a 1944 graduate of Geneseo High School and married Wayne R. Heeren Feb. 1, 1949, in Geneseo. He died March 2008. She assisted her husband, Wayne, in farming in rural Coal Valley and Orion and after his death she moved into Geneseo. She was a member of the Orion United Methodist Church, the Geneseo Chapter of NSDAR, National Society of Daughters of Colonial Wars, National Society of New England Women, Geneseo American Legion Auxiliary, was a life member of Duston Family Association and the United Methodist Women of Duston.

Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Heeren of Geneseo; a sister, Barbara Gramling of Geneseo; sisters-in-law, Marie Schweninger of Geneseo and Shirley Hawk of Florida; brother-in-law, Patrick Gray of Colona; 17 nieces and nephews; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews, and several great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne; one sister, Shirley Gray, and two brothers, Elmer and Robert Schweninger.
