Bonita A. Yeater, 77, of Colona, died Sunday, April 6, 2014, at her home. Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 9 at Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory Ltd., Moline. A visitation was held Tuesday, April 8 at the funeral home. Burial was in Greenview Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Colona United Methodist Church.

She was born on April 20, 1936, in Kimball, S.D., the daughter of Bernard and Agnes (Troldahl) Nado. She married Thomas Yeater Sr., on March 8, 1975. She worked as a material coordinator for I.H. in East Moline from 1966 to 1996. She was a member of Colona United Methodist Church and a 40-year member of the Mississippi Valley Country Music Association. Bonita was an avid country music fan and often sang in many country music bands. Above all, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Survivors include her loving husband, Thomas; children, Curtis (Lorri) Yeater of Geneseo, Thomas (Karri Schurbon) Yeater Jr. of Tipton, Iowa, and Lisa Yeater-Ellis of Biggsville; grandchildren, Michael, Thomas III, Austin, Cameron, Krissa and Abbie; great grandchildren, Karson Ricther and Maci Grisham; sisters, Orphy Kinkade of Geneseo and Cheryl (Orville) Parnell of Davenport, Iowa, and sister-in-law, Jane Laingen of Geneseo. She was preceded in death by her father, Bernard Nado; mother, Agnes Wright; brother, Rudolph; sister, Arlene Laingen; and grandson, Christopher Yeater.
