Wilma Jane “Billie” Pratt, 83, of Geneseo died Monday, Nov. 10, 2014, at Genesis Senior Living Center in Silvis. A funeral service celebrating her life will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 15 at Vandemore Funeral Homes in Geneseo. Pastor Chet McCoy will officiate. Burial will follow at Dayton Corners Cemetery. A visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wilma J. “Billie” Pratt Memorial Fund.

Billie was born on March 18, 1931, in Hampton Township, the daughter of Jefferson and Ina (Johnson) Hayes. She was united in marriage to Richard F. Pratt on Aug. 25, 1951, in Joslin. He preceded her in death on Oct. 10, 1992. She worked beside her husband on the farm.

Billie was a member of the United Methodist Church of the Cross in rural Port Byron, Colona American Legion Auxiliary, Geneseo Women of the Moose, La Femme Cabane Locale No. 433 of Annawan, 40&8, Cub Scout leader, Howard School PTA and United Methodist Women. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and bowling. She was an avid Chicago sports fan, especially the Cubs. She loved attending her grandchildren and great grandchildren’s activities.

She is survived by her daughters, Beth (Doug) Schwager of Long Grove, Iowa; Gail (Steve) Evans of Millington, Tenn.; and Val Edge of Maiden Rock, Wis.; sons, Mike (Mary) Pratt of Geneseo, Steve Pratt of Geneseo and Joe (Janet) Pratt of Geneseo; 17 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and one on the way; sisters, Dolores Raynor of New Bern, N.C., and Mary (Jerry) Jackson of Port Byron; brother, Donald (Beverly) Hayes of Shelly, Idaho; and sister-in-law, Marilyn Nightingale of East Moline. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard; her son, Danny Pratt; her grandson, Brett Martin; an infant child; her brother, George Hayes; and her sister, Jackie Fanning.
