Patricia “Patty” A. Carpenter, 90, of Moline died Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at Hope Creek Care Center in East Moline. Graveside services were at 10 a.m. Monday, March 9 at Rock Island National Cemetery. A visitation was from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 8 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home in Rock Island, with a funeral service following. Memorials may be made in care of the family.

Patricia A. Bleuer was born on Nov. 3, 1924, in Rock Island, a daughter of Harold Bleuer and Jennie Crosby Bleuer. She married Charles E. Carpenter on Aug. 24, 1940. He preceded her in death on Aug. 14, 1991. Patty was a member of Gloria Dei Presbyterian Church in Rock Island. She enjoyed her visits to the casino, as well as playing cards and bingo. She was an avid Chicago sports fan, mainly supporting the Cubs, Bears and Bulls. Patty loved to send greeting cards to loved ones and all others who may enjoy them.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Larry (Nancy) Carpenter of Louisburg, N.C., and Judie Klavon of Geneseo; grandchildren, Charles Carpenter of Raleigh, N.C.; Susanne Carpenter of Raleigh, N.C.; Jeffrey (Cheryl) Davis of Palm Springs, Calif.; Brian (Diana) Davis of Donnellson, Iowa; and Diana (Donald) Fisher of Geneseo; eight great grandchildren; sisters, Wilma (Wayne) Hallenbeck of Rohnert Park, Calif., and Jeanne Bleuer of Ann Arbor, Mich.; brother, John (Joy) Bleuer of Coyne Center; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles; brother, James Bleuer; and son-in-law, Robert Klavon.
