Dorothy E. Hasenyager, 96, of Geneseo died Monday, March 9, 2015, at Hillcrest Home in Geneseo. A funeral service celebrating her life was at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 12 at Vandemore Funeral Homes in Geneseo. Burial followed at Oakwood Cemetery in Geneseo. A visitation was one hour prior to the service from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Geneseo Humane Society.

Dorothy was born on March 26, 1918, in Seattle, Wash., the daughter of Earl and Pearl (Joy) Wallace. She was united in marriage to Donald A. Hasenyager on Jan. 17, 1947. He preceded her in death. Dorothy worked in the dietary department at Hammond-Henry Hospital as well as the former Achterhoff and Rink’s Grocery store in Geneseo and then at Farmer’s National Bank in Geneseo. She was a member of St. Malachy’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed crocheting and her pets.

She is survived by her sister, Doris Goodrich, of Geneseo, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers and a nephew.
