The Geneseo tennis team continued to roll through their Northern Illinois Big 12 schedule picking up wins against Dixon, Morris and Sterling.

The Maple Leafs downed the Dukes 4-1 sweeping all three doubles matches.

Geneseo’s Brice Piotrowski and Tyler Williams continued to roll earning a 6-4, 6-1 victory at No. 1 doubles.

The Leafs’ Ben Rowley and Eric Dellett cruised to a 6-1, 6-3 win, and Logan Lanphere and Ethan Pullman won a see-saw match 3-6, 6-6 (7-5), 6-4.

Geneseo’s Brock Piotrowski picked up a three-set victory in his No. 1 singles match 6-4, 2-6, 6-2.

Keaton Darin fell just short in his comeback effort edged 6-3, 0-6, 6-6 (7-5).

The Geneseo JV team added three wins in doubles matches.

Sam Welch and Trace Johnson won their match 8-3, and Grant Chaney and Brian Bozzer teamed up for a 10-8 victory.

AJ Miller and Will Chaney added an 8-2 win for the Leafs.

Morris at Geneseo

Geneseo’s doubles continued piling up the victories leading the Leafs to a 4-1 win over Morris.

The Maple Leafs’ Brice Piotrowski and Williams defeated Morris’ top doubles team 6-2, 6-0.

The senior doubles duo continued to have a stranglehold over conference opponents, and Brice Piotrowski and Williams are targeting big things coming off the teams’ first outright NIB 12 championship last season.

“I would love to leave senior year by winning conference, and leaving a legacy with the team others can continue so then they can win next year and keep it going,” Brice Piotrowski said.

Having already qualified for state during their junior season, Brice Piotrowski and Williams were defeated by Galesburg in the sectional third-place match last season.

During a dual meet with the same Galesburg duo this season, Geneseo came out inspired earning a 6-4 6-1 victory on the Silver Streaks’ courts.

“If feels really good,” Williams said. “It shows we have both improved so much to have beaten them.”

Geneseo’s Rowley and Dellett won in short order taking a 6-0, 6-1 victory.

Lanphere and Pullman were sharp winning a 6-4, 6-3 match.

Darin won his singles match 6-4, 6-2, and Brock Piotrowski was held off in a close match 7-5, 6-4.

The Maple Leafs’ JV team swept Morris, 5-0.

Avery Dunker scored an 8-3 win for the Leafs in singles, and Geneseo’s Scott Miller claimed an 8-0 victory.

AJ Miller and Will Chaney added an 8-0 win, and the Leafs’ Mick Haverland and Ben Ford battled for a 9-7 decision.

Geneseo’s Logan Stein and Josh Yoder nabbed an 8-3 win.

Geneseo at Sterling

Geneseo doubles swept the Golden Warriors to lead the Leafs to a 4-1 victory.

Brice Piotrowski and Williams were 6-2, 6-3 winners, and Rowley and Dellett earned a 6-1, 6-1 win.

Lanphere and Pullman scratched out a 6-2, 5-7, 6-1 victory for the Leafs.

In singles, Darin won the No. 2 singles match 6-0, 6-1.

Geneseo's frosh/soph team came away with a clean sweep of Sterling 5-0.

Dunker won the top singles match 8-1, and Miller pulled out a 9-7 win.

In doubles, Miller and Will Chaney worked quick for an 8-0 victory.

The freshmen duo of Haverland and Ford earned an 8-1 win, and Stein and Yoder teamed up to win their match 8-0.
