On July 14, Post No. 724 out-slugged Oneida Post No. 727, behind a hot start at the plate.

Geneseo/Atkinson Legion started fast scoring six runs in the first inning.

In the first, Post No. 724 took advantage of fielding errors by Oneida to put a crooked number on the board, but big performances from the entire lineup at the plate helped continue to build on their early lead.

Geneseo blasted 12 hits in the game and drew eight walks.

The squad fanned the flames by scoring two runs in the fourth inning and adding another three runs in the fifth.

Jacob Pauley cracked three singles and drove in two runs for Post No. 724.

Geneseo/Atkinson’s Keaton Rice smacked two doubles and drove in a pair of runs, and Jacob VanDoren slugged a double.

Devin Haxby hammered his first home run of the Legion season.

Geneseo/Atkinson’s leadoff hitter, Haxby had two hits in the first inning and finished the game with a stolen base and two RBIs.

Cole Hunzeker drove in two runs on two hits, and Eric Westerlund finished with two hits and tallied two RBIs.

Logan Alexander kept the hit parade coming with a pair of singles and two RBIs.

Nick Anderson and Cole Toone each notched a hit.

Hunter DeSplinter did his part drawing three walks and scoring two runs.

Marshall Rice earned the win on the mound, and Nathanial Jackson took the ball in relief for the final three innings.
