Wendy Lynn Thompson, 48, of Geneseo, died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2018, at the Methodist Hospital - Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minn., surrounded by her loving family. A visitation was from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18 at Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory, in Geneseo. A private funeral service for the family was Wednesday, Dec. 19. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to the Wendy L. Thompson Memorial Fund.

Wendy was born on July 20, 1970, in Moline, the daughter of Larry J. and Linda C. (Monkus) Gull. She graduated from Geneseo High School with the Class of 1988, and attended Western Illinois University, where she received a degree in sociology. Wendy was united in marriage to Trevor M. Thompson on June 27, 2005. She was employed as the branch manager of Alside Inc. in Rock Island for 25 years. Wendy enjoyed shopping, going boating, and visiting the ocean and beaches. Most of all, Wendy loved being a mother, and she centered her life around her two sons. She loved going to watch them play sports, and was so proud of their talents.

Those left to cherish her memory include husband, Trevor; two sons, Daniel and Dennis Thompson; her father, Larry (Andrea) Gull, of East Moline; and mother, Linda (Randy) Mullin, of Geneseo. Wendy also is survived by her sisters, Heather (Rick) Farrell, of Geneseo; and Ashley Gull, of Chicago; step-siblings, Melissa Mayers, of Moline; and Tim (Tracey) Pettit, of East Moline; Gregory (Lisa) Mullin, of Ogden, Utah; and Ginger (Douglas Hovel) Mullin, of Lincoln; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mark (Lenna) Thompson, of Delhi, Iowa; along with several nieces and nephews.
