An accident offers a middle school boy the chance to start over with a clean slate in the book “Restart.”

Students at Geneseo Middle School selected the novel, written by Gordon Korman, as the 2019 On the Same Page book.

Now in its 10th year, On the Same Page encourages students and community members to read a specially selected book.

In the novel, Chase, a middle school student, falls off a roof and ends up with amnesia. Chase doesn’t remember anything about home or school and isn’t sure why everybody thinks this is a wonderful opportunity for him to start with a clean slate. What did he do in his past that would make it better for him to forget the old Chase and start over?

Through the support of the Geneseo Education Fund, Geneseo Kiwanis, and the Middle School/High School PTA, there is no cost to participate in the program. Free copies of “Restart” will be available at various locations in Geneseo starting Jan. 22.

Readers who take copies of the book are encouraged to share the book with others when they finish reading it in hopes that the books will circulate throughout the area. Books also can be obtained and/or returned to the Geneseo Middle School office during regular school hours.

This year’s program will conclude with a Try-Something-New Fair at Geneseo Middle School on Tuesday, March 19.
