Betty L. Robertson, 85, of Geneseo, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2019, at Hillcrest Home, in Geneseo. A funeral service will be at noon Saturday, Feb. 2 at First Congregational Church, in Geneseo. The Rev. Bruce Bergthold will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, in Geneseo. A visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon on Saturday, one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Memorials may be directed to First Congregational Church. Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory, in Geneseo, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Betty was born July 12, 1933, in Greenfield, the daughter of Roy A. and Beaulah J. (Thurman) Wilson. She was united in marriage to James Robertson on Dec. 16, 1951, in Abingdon. She was employed as a librarian and study hall supervisor at Geneseo Junior High School and also owned and operated the Prairie Workshop in Bishop Hill for 23 years. Betty was a long time member of First Congregational Church, as well as a member of the Western Illinois Tourism Council, Junior Women’s Club, Jaycees, Boy Scouts of America, and numerous quilting clubs. Betty enjoyed quilting, reading, playing bridge, and going square dancing with her husband, Jim.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Jim; sons: Richard Robertson, of Atkinson; Greg Robertson, of Bishop Hill; and Todd (Janni) Robertson, of Colona; five grandchildren: Nicole (Brett) Myers, of Columbia, Mo.; Eric Robertson, of Eagle River, Wis.; Brittany (Matt) Parker, of Washington, Ill.; Tyler (Renee) Robertson, of Geneseo; and Caleb (Leah) Robertson, of Wilton, Iowa; and eight great-grandchildren, Maxton, Lilly, Molly, & Ellie Parker and Shea, Harper, Ryder, & Reed Robertson. Betty also is survived by her sisters, Carol Morby, of Aledo; and Charlotte Sensebaugh, of Galesburg. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Beaulah; a son, Dennis Robertson; sister, Donna Jones; and a brother, Jerry Wilson.
