Kelly A. Liedtke, 55, of East Moline, died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2019, at UnityPoint Health - Trinity, in Rock Island. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 4 at First United Methodist Church, in Geneseo. The Rev. Dr. Christopher Ritter will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. A visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3 at Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory, in Geneseo. Memorials may be directed to the Kelly Liedtke Memorial Fund.
Kelly was born June 20, 1963, in Streator, the daughter of Richard and Peggy (Hawkins) King. She graduated from Atkinson High School and attended Black Hawk College. Kelly married Kurt Liedtke on Sept. 15, 2001, at First United Methodist Church, in Geneseo. She was employed at UnityPoint-Trinity as a cashier and emergency room and clinic registration clerk for 25 years. Kelly was a volunteer at the John Deere Classic for 25 years. She enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter. Kelly was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church. She loved babies and enjoyed babysitting at the church.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Kurt; parents, Richard and Peggy King, of Atkinson; son, Blake Opsal and fiancée Michaela Dorbeck, of Coal Valley; daughter, Danita Opsal, of East Moline; brother, Patrick King, of Atkinson; and sister, Jodi (Clayton) Casteel, of Cambridge. Kelly was preceded in death by her grandparents.
