William David ‘Davie’ VanAlstine, 54, of Geneseo, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2019, at Hammond-Henry Hospital’s Emergency Room, in Geneseo. A celebration of life will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1 at the Geneseo VFW. Cremation has been accorded. Memorials may be directed to the William David VanAlstine Memorial Fund. Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory, in Geneseo, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Davie was born May 19, 1964, in Annawan, the son of John and Elaine (Ball) VanAlstine. He is a graduate of Annawan High School. Davie married Kathy S. Ireland on Dec. 11, 2012, in Cambridge. He was currently employed at Janda Motor Services, in Davenport, Iowa, as a truck and delivery driver. He had previously been employed at MVP Pumps as well as at the Heinold Hog Market in Atkinson for many years. Davie was an avid bowler and loved to go to auctions. He also enjoyed going to the racetrack to watch the horse races.

Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Elaine Wyffels, of Geneseo; wife, Kathy, of Geneseo; brother, Eric (Lynn) VanAlstine, of Missouri; and sister, Ardith Mueller, of Reynolds. He was preceded in death by his father, John.
