Jan K. Rink, 75, died Monday, Feb. 25, 2019, at Genesis Medical Center East Campus, in Davenport, Iowa. A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 2 at Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory, Geneseo Chapel. Deacon Harley Chaffee will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, in Geneseo. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Geneseo Humane Society.

Jan was born March 20, 1943, in Geneseo, the daughter of Clyde and Marjorie (Biddison) Johnson. She married Bill L. Rink on June 14, 1961, in Geneseo. Jan had been an interior decorator for many years working for Bill VanVliete and Carl Mahler in the Geneseo area. She was a talented artist selling her artwork for many years. She enjoyed antique collecting, and was a fabulous knitter.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Bill of Geneseo; son, Scott (Diane) Rink, of Marion, Iowa; daughter, Jennifer (Mike) O’Toole, of Grayslake; daughter, Jill (Tami) Domescik-Rink, of Auburn; son, Brad (Kenny Lawrence) Rink, of Cape Town, South Africa; brother, Mike (Delores) Johnson, of Geneseo; sister Ali (Curt) De Splinter, of Geneseo; six grandchildren, Taylor Rink, Alex (Chelsea) Rink, McKenzi and Emma Domescik-Rink and Hillary and Erin O’Toole; and three great-grandchildren, Manning, Madden, and Benjamin. Jan was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Ashley (Rink) Merritts; her parents, Clyde and Marjorie Johnson; and one brother, Greg Johnson.
